KUYAP -” Increasing adaptability of employers and employees to changes in global economy”,a project implemented with the partnership and great efforts of MAKRO was presented as a success story at the European Development Days (EDD) 2017.
The European Development Days (EDD) 2017 will focus on the international community’s strategic response to the most pressing global challenges of the day, with a particular emphasis on the engagement of the private sector as a major partner in economic development. The title this year is ‘Investing in Development’ and the programme is to be framed around three major themes: Investing in People and Planet, Investing in Prosperity and Investing in Peace and Partnerships; and three cross-cutting priorities, Gender, Youth and Private Sector.
In addition to sessions with debates, project or report presentations, brainstorming, the EDD hosted a Global Village, a particularly exciting platform showcasing successful projects and ground-breaking reports from around the World. The “Increasing adaptability of employers and employees to changes in global economy (KUYAP)” project was presented in this context.
The objective of this project implemented by TOBB was finished to increase the adaptability of employees (3,000) and employers (2,000) through the upgrading of human capital, and to support sustainable economic growth and social development in 15 development centres of Turkey. The threefold purpose of the project was to directly support SMEs by increasing knowledge and skills and strengthening their capacity; to support mainly chambers and other social partners and public institutions in providing services to SMEs in order to increase the adaptability of employees, employers and enterprises; to enhance coordination and cooperation among relevant actors in providing services to SMEs, also to increase the adaptability of employees, employers and enterprises.
